Launch Checklist

Before a site goes live, don't just check that the admin saved successfully. Open the front end on the real domain and check pages, links, images, and HTTPS end to end.

Check order​

Content checks​

  • The home page has no default template copy.
  • The logo is sharp and sized appropriately.
  • There are at least 2 to 3 main product categories.
  • Each main category has at least 2 representative products.
  • Product main images aren't distorted, blurry, or badly cropped.
  • 1 to 2 basic articles are published.

Page and navigation checks​

  • Home, product, article, About Us, and Contact pages all open.
  • The menu order matches how users browse.
  • Dropdown menus expand correctly.
  • No button or menu link returns a 404.
  • New pages are bound to a route and set to enabled.

Product display checks​

  • Featured products on the home page are the ones you want to highlight.
  • Product detail pages open correctly.
  • The product module's Detail Page is set to /products.
  • The article module's detail page is set to /posts.

Domain and HTTPS checks​

  • The domain is added in the AllinCMS admin.
  • DNS records are added at your registrar.
  • The primary domain is the www version, e.g. www.allincms.com.
  • The browser opens the site over https://www.allincms.com.
  • If you just bound the domain, you've waited 10 to 30 minutes before checking.

Image checks​

Bigger images mean a slower site. Before launch, at least check the images on the home and product pages.
