Homepage Basics
Tip: In this guide, you will update the required homepage modules. Make the site usable first, then improve the design. Estimated time: 15 minutes.
Before editing the homepage, confirm you already have:
- 3 to 4 product categories.
- At least 2 products in each category.
- 3 basic posts.
If not, go back to Getting Started and prepare the content first.
The default template usually already includes Header, Carousel, Category Showcase, Featured Product List, Featured News List, Footer, and similar modules.
If these modules already exist on the homepage, edit text, images, links, and data first. Do not delete everything and rebuild in the first round.
If the homepage is blank or 404, do not continue editing modules. Go back to Create a Site and check whether the theme was created, enabled, and assigned a homepage.
Find the page first
Path: AllinCMS Workspace site list → Target site → Enter Admin → Themes → Current theme pages → Home or target page

Recommended Order
1. Header Menu
Keep the header menu simple at first:
Home -> Products -> News / Blog -> About Us -> Contact Us
Check whether these links open first. If they open, edit the menu text. If they do not open, fix links first.
Related guides:
If the header menu links open the correct pages, move to the next step. Do not spend the first round polishing complex styles.
2. Dropdown Menu
If you have many product categories or company pages, place them under a dropdown menu.
Common structure:
Products
- Wireless Earphones
- Bluetooth Speakers
- Smart Watches
Do not guess category links. Open the frontend /products page, click the category, then copy the real link.
Read Dropdown Menu for detailed steps.
3. Banner Carousel
The banner carousel is also called the Hero Banner. In the editor, the block is usually named Carousel (Campaign). It is the first thing visitors see when they open the website.
If the homepage already has a carousel block, edit its text, images, and button links first. Do not delete and rebuild it in the first round. Add a new carousel only when the homepage does not already have one.
Add the Carousel Block
There are two ways to add it:
- Recommended: enter this AI instruction:
Add a carousel module below the top menu. - Manual: find
All Sections / Campaigns->Carousel (Campaign)in the left block list, then drag it onto the page.

Turn Off the Image Mask
If the banner image has a gray overlay, select Carousel (Campaign) and turn off Show Image Mask in the right-side properties. You can also tell AI: Turn off the carousel image mask.
Turning off the mask makes the image brighter, but it can also make white text harder to read. Turn it off when the image is dark and text stays clear; keep it on when the image is bright.

Edit or Add Carousel Items
After selecting Carousel (Campaign), edit the current carousel item in the right-side Props panel. Update these first:
TitleandDescription: explain what you sell and who it is for.Image: upload your own wide banner image.Primary Label/Primary Target: main button text and link.Secondary Label/Secondary Target: secondary button text and link. Keep or remove it as needed.
To add another carousel slide, scroll to the bottom of the right-side Props panel, click + Add service item, then upload the image and edit the text.

For the first round, update 3 things:
- Title: clearly say what you sell.
- Subtitle: explain your strength or use scenario in one sentence.
- Button: link to the product page or contact page.
Example:
Title: Custom Bluetooth Audio Products
Subtitle: OEM earphones and speakers for global brands.
Button: View Products
Link: /products
Use wide banner images and avoid large files. Before uploading, read Image Guidelines. If you do not know the right size, use the screenshot measurement method in that guide.
Avoid generic text like Welcome or Best Service. After the first screen, visitors should know what you sell.
4. Category Showcase
The product category module helps visitors browse by category. Place it after the banner.
Finish Product Categories before setting this module.
For the first round, show only 3 to 4 main categories. Do not show every small subcategory.
Check:
- Category names are your real categories.
- Category images are clear and prepared with Image Guidelines.
- Clicking a category opens the correct product list.
5. Featured Product List
Featured products show your key products. Place them after product categories.
Check these settings:
- Each category has at least 2 products.
- Featured products are not template/test products.
- The product module
Detail Pageis set to/products. - Clicking a product opens the detail page.
To control highlighted products, read Homepage Featured Products.
For detailed settings, read Product Module.
6. Featured News List
Recommended posts can show news, blog posts, cases, or knowledge articles.
For the first round, add 3 posts:
- One company or factory capability post.
- One product knowledge post.
- One case or application post.
The post detail page is usually:
/posts
If post links show 404, check whether the detail page is selected correctly.
7. Footer Menu
The footer usually contains:
- Company name and short introduction.
- Product category links.
- About Us / Contact Us.
- Email, phone, and social links.
- Copyright.
For clickable phone and email links, read Contact Links.
The footer matters. Many visitors scroll to the footer to find email, phone, and company information. Do not leave it as template text.
First-Round Check
You can move on when:
- Header menu links work.
- Dropdown menu links are correct.
- Banner text is no longer template text.
- Product categories open category pages.
- Featured products open detail pages.
- Posts open detail pages.
- Footer contact info is real.
After these 7 items pass, add Cases, image gallery, video modules, and popup forms. Do not add complex modules before the basics work.
Next
Create a Page - after the basic homepage works, add pages like Cases, OEM, or Services.
